Congratulations to the U17 Select team for placing second in their 2024 Provincials in Windsor this past weekend.
The challenge started right from the beginning, from the drive up with road closures and detours. First day wins against Forest Glade juniors and Oakville seniors placed them second in their pool with battles beginning bright and early on day two. Wins against North Bay, their nemesis Whitby, and lastly Milton landed them in the Gold Medal game against Markham. Fighting to the last second, the team took silver.

Please join us in congratulating:
Alissa C. – catcher and shortstop
Alyssa H. – first base and right field
Bethany T. – pitcher and third base
Ellie P. – second base
Emily S. – catcher and shortstop
Evelyn M. – third base and first base
Hailey K. – pitcher and third base
Kate D. – centre field and shortstop
Kayla N. – fielder
Lakin G. – second base and right field
Mattea N. – first base and fielder
Zoe A. – left field

Passion. Dedication. Athleticism. Talent. Grit. Spirit. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how awesome this team is. It was an honour being part of this amazing journey. Thanks, and congratulations to our outstanding group of girls!

Anyone aged 13 years or older interested in part-time work for the summer? We have the opportunity for you! Umpiring is a great experience for youth to enhance confidence and decision-making skills, and an opportunity to earn above minimum wage. Since the majority of games are weekday evenings during the summer, it’s a perfect opportunity for students taking summer school, or who have other daytime or weekend commitments. Great job for the resume too!

No softball experience is required. Training will be done by the Ontario Softball Umpiring Training Clinics, which are starting soon. Anyone interested can email umpires@rhmsa.ca.
